Today, our toddler program focused on a FARM theme!

Mystery Box:
Today, our little yellow box contained a little chick

Books Read:
Oh Dear – Campbell
Are You a Cow- Boynton
If You’re Happy and You Know It - Carter

Songs with Shaker Eggs:
Shake My Sillies Out
Shake Your Egg Along with Me
Milkshake Song

Flannel Story: Five Eggs

Five eggs and five eggs, that makes ten (hold up 2 hands)
Sitting on top is the mother hen. (fold one hand over the other)
Crackle, crackle, crackle; what do I see? (clap 3 times)
Ten fluffy chickens, as yellow as can be! (hold up and wiggle ten fingers)

PuppetOld MacDonald Had a Farm (with barn prop and animal puppets)

I made this barn out of an old cardboard box shaped that was conveniently shaped like a house. I covered it with construction paper and decorated it with foam letters and a red foam sheet barn door. As we sing the song, the animal pops out of the top of the barn. It is really fun to use with the kids.

I found these puppets on amazon.com I think; they were a great deal!

Craft:
Chick puppets decorated with crayons and lots of feathers were a hit today. Who doesn't love feathers? You can find the template here.
